Studio Photography in the Age of the Scroll: Art, Access, and Authenticity

There was a time when a studio photographer’s biggest concern was light—natural, artificial, or borrowed from the glow of a city window. Today, the light comes from screens. Endless ones. Phones, tablets, laptops. And while that light promises exposure, it also casts long shadows over the creative process.

This series is for photographers, creatives, and storytellers who love the craft but wrestle with the business, the confidence, and the pressure to perform online. It’s about studio photography, yes—but also about imposter syndrome, community, and what it really means to show up in a world that never stops watching.

Beginning this February, I’ll also be bringing these conversations off the page and into the room through a series of hands-on classes at The Haus of Collectives, located at 2 Henshaw Street. Consider this series both an invitation and a mirror.
